Health benefits for your family are revolved around Cholesterol and Fatty Acids.
There are two different types of cholesterol, one being fatty and considered “gummy”.
These go through your bloodstream sticking to the sides of the artery walls causing
massive heart failure and clogged arteries. Potentially leading to a fatal heart attack.
These are called “bad cholesterol”.
Good Cholesterol however is the opposite. These are much smaller in size and contain
millions of protein bristles on the outer surface that go through your arteries and act
like billions of tiny brushes that scrub the plaque off the inside of your arteries.
There are also two kinds of Fatty Acids. One being Omega 6 and the other Omega 3 both
are the deciding factors of your level of cholesterol. O-3's are high in good cholesterol
which in return will clean your arteries and lower your bad cholesterol. O-6's on the other
hand raise cholesterol and keeps the good cholesterol down.
Omega 3's and 6's are found only in the wild in plants. Omega 3's come from the fat in green
living plants which is found in the stems and leaves. Omega 6's however come from the seeds of
plants. Chickens consume mainly the small tender plants that have no seeds, which makes them
high in O-3's. Our chickens consume 30% of their diet on just living grasses. This is 7 lbs of
grass per chicken. About 20% of their diet is other living things such as insects and worms.
All of which eat by-products of grass. That is 50% of our chicken’s diet that are extremely high
in Omega 3's. The other 50% is corn, soybeans and other grains that give our birds their main
source of energy. Grass and insects are low in calories and birds need a diversified diet which
includes grains (omega 6) just like people.
In today’s society the average person has 20 to 60 times more O-6's than O-3's. Why? Almost
every animal found in grocery stores are fed either an “all vegetarian diet” or a “natural”
diet. All vegetarian diet is not a complete feed. This often leaves animals malnourished. Corn,
soybeans, and wheat are not enough to meet the needs of a chicken. Everything in this diet is in
the form of a seed “Omega 6's”. These birds are lower in fat because of no animal by-product, but
are extremely high in “bad cholesterol.” These birds have little, if any, Omega 3's.
An all natural diet or “Organic” fed is basically a commercial feed without antibiotics or flavor
enhancements. The feed contains corn, soybeans, and wheat for about 78% of the chicken’s diet. The
other 22% consist of minerals and supplements that mimic what grass fed animals find on their own,
such as: lime, calcium, phosphorous, vitamin e, salt, and flax seed. Flax seed is a very unique seed
containing 50% Omega 3's and 50% Omega 6's. This is one of only three kinds of seeds with these
characteristics. So once again chicken in stores are fed high levels of Omega 6 fatty acids.
To better understand the importance of grass fed benefits, take a look at the ocean, for example.
The food chain is practically untouched by man; almost all animals still eat what they ate thousands
of years ago. Take fish for example, they don’t eat grass ... or do they? Well, believe it or not, fish
are extremely high in Omega 3 fatty acids. Along with other animals in the ocean they show little
signs of ever having Omega 6's in their body. Why? The bottom of the food chain in the ocean is a
simple creature called plankton. Plankton is what the ocean thrives on. Every creature is somehow
involved with it. Also known to be extremely enriched in Omega 3 fatty acids, plankton is described as
the “Grass of the Sea”.
Things tend to stay alright when man is taken out of the picture. Take for example the most common diseases:
Cancer, Diabetes, Heart Disease, High Blood Pressure, High Cholesterol and Obesity are all common. All
of which we know as degenerative diseases. These diseases were not known thousands of years ago. Approximately
4-10 thousand years ago, Paleontologist first saw fossils with degenerative disease. Before that time, there
weren’t any diseases or cancers that plagued this world. All humans ate an abundant of fish and grass fed
animals such as bison and deer. Disease didn’t kill people, infections and old age did...
